We're excited to announce the latest addition to our team at Geoimage: Amy Parker!
Amy is a final-year student at the University of Queensland, about to wrap up her studies with dual degrees in Geographical Science and Mathematics. Her passion lies in geographic information systems, especially in data visualisation and analytics. But what really turns her crank is mathematics, it's been her thing since childhood, and she's particularly fond of graph theory.
According to Amy, " I have pretty much had an enjoyment in mathematics since I can first remember, and it has helped me gain an analytical intuition. Graph theory was my favourite mathematics course during my studies. I found spatial, non-spatial and processing quite interesting and an intriguing subject during my university studies which led me to pursue my passion and approach Geoimage.”
Mark Covington, our General Manager, is thrilled to have Amy join the team, “We are always on the look out for new talent and Amy’s combination of GIS and mathematics was very attractive. It’s increasingly important for us to bring on board the next generation of critical thinkers who can make the connections between satellite data and the complex challenges that face our world.”
Welcome aboard, Amy!
